24VDC RGB LED Strips

24VDC RGB LED strips are the ideal option for filling ceilings, furniture, facades or store windows with color when you need long runs without loss of intensity. Available 24VDC RGB strips

• 24VDC COB RGB strip: 16 W/m and 672 lm/m, IP20, with a continuous line of light and no visible dots, ideal for profiles with a diffuser or exposed light.
• 24VDC COB RGBW strip: 16 W/m and 784 lm/m, IP20; adds a white channel to the RGB colors for clean whites as well as color effects.
• SMD5050 RGB IP33 strip: 300 LEDs, 72 W and 4,200 lm over 5 meters, for indoor use.
• SMD5050 RGB IP65 strip: the same power with a water-resistant coating, for covered outdoor areas, bathrooms or damp areas.

Uses for RGB LED strips

RGB strips are used for decorative and ambient lighting: ceiling coves, headboards, shelves, TV units, bar counters, store windows, stands and facades. The RGBW version is especially useful when the same strip needs to serve as both colored ambient light and functional white light.

Why choose 24 V instead of 12 V?

At 24 V less current flows for the same wattage, so voltage drop is lower and you can power longer runs without the end of the strip losing brightness or shifting in tone. It also reduces the cable cross-section required.

How to choose a 24VDC RGB LED strip

COB or SMD

COB for a uniform line of light; SMD5050 if you want maximum intensity per meter.

RGB or RGBW

RGB produces colors and an approximate white; RGBW includes a true white.

IP rating

IP20 or IP33 for dry indoor areas; IP65 for humidity or sheltered outdoor areas.

Power and control

You need a 24 VDC power supply with enough capacity (add up the strip's watts and add a 20% margin) and an RGB or RGBW controller. See our LED strip power supplies and LED strip controllers.
