Decorative Wall Lights for Hallways

Decorative wall lights for hallways are the perfect way to turn a passageway into a space with personality. Mounted on the wall, they give soft light that guides the way, make the hallway look wider and avoid the tunnel effect of a single ceiling light. At GreenIce you'll find wall lights in very different styles so you can find the one that suits your home.

Wall light styles for hallways

  • Integrated LED wall lights: compact, energy-efficient models, such as 2 W, 180-lumen versions, that give very pleasant accent light and need no bulb.
  • GU10 bulb wall lights: let you change the bulb and choose its wattage and light tone. Pair them with our GU10 LED bulbs.
  • Glass globe wall lights: elegant designs, also available in IP44 versions for outdoor walkways or covered porches.
  • Designer wall lights: metal pieces, geometric shapes and black, white or gold finishes that act almost as decorative objects.

How to light a hallway with wall lights

In a narrow hallway, wall lights that cast light up and down make the space look bigger and create a pleasant rhythm on the wall. As a guide, mount them at a height of 1.70–1.80 m and 1.5 to 2.5 m apart, on one wall or alternating sides. If the hallway has paintings, photos or mirrors, a wall light nearby shows them off.

Choose low-projection models so you don't bump into them, especially in hallways less than a meter wide. And if you want the light to come on by itself when you walk by at night, add a sensor from our presence and motion detection section.

How to choose wall lights for the hallway

Color temperature

For a home hallway we recommend warm light (2700–3000K), which feels cozy and doesn't dazzle when you step out of the bedrooms at night.

Brightness

A hallway doesn't need much power: soft-light wall lights spaced evenly are enough. If the hallway is long and has no other light source, increase the brightness slightly or add more light points.

Style and finish

Choose a finish that matches the handles, frames or lamps in the rest of the house. In small hallways, light tones help create a sense of space.

Installation

Check whether there's already a wall light outlet; if not, an electrician can branch one off the lighting circuit. Discover more models in wall lights and ideas in hallway lighting.
