Decorative Wall Lights for Bedrooms

Decorative wall lights for bedrooms are the most elegant way to have light next to the bed without taking up space on the nightstand. At GreenIce we've gathered LED and bulb wall lights that provide warm, cozy light, perfect for reading, unwinding before sleep or adding a stylish touch to your headboard.

Types of wall lights for the bedroom

  • Integrated LED wall lights: models from 2 W to 15 W, in 2700 K (warm) or 4200 K (neutral), with a 40,000-hour lifespan. They need no bulb and have a very compact design.
  • Wall lights with adjustable tone: such as the 12 W, 1200 lm round two-tone wall light with CCT, which lets you choose between warm light to relax or more neutral light for reading.
  • Glass globe wall lights: decorative designs that diffuse light softly and become part of the decor.
  • GU10 bulb wall lights: let you change the bulb and choose wattage and tone, as well as aim the beam.

Where to place wall lights in the bedroom

The most common placement is on either side of the headboard, 60 to 80 cm above the mattress, so the light falls on your book without dazzling the person sleeping next to you. They also work very well next to a dressing table, in a reading nook or to light the way to the walk-in closet.

If you want more focused light for reading, check out our reading wall lights and spotlights. To complete the atmosphere, combine wall lights with table lamps or browse our full collection of LED wall lights.

How to choose a wall light for the bedroom

Color temperature

In the bedroom we recommend warm light, between 2700 K and 3000 K. It promotes relaxation and creates a cozy atmosphere before sleep.

Right brightness

A bedside wall light doesn't need much power: 400 to 800 lm is enough for reading. 5 W or 6 W models are usually the ideal choice.

Light direction

Wall lights that cast light up and down create atmosphere; adjustable or directed-beam models are better for reading.

Installation

Check whether there is a cable outlet in the wall. Many wall lights connect directly to 230 V, but it's worth planning the switch so you can turn them off from bed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the right height for a headboard wall light?

As a guide, place the wall light 60 to 80 cm above the mattress, adjusting for the height of the headboard.

Is an integrated LED wall light or a bulb model better?

Integrated LED is more compact and efficient; a bulb model lets you change the tone or wattage in the future.
