Decorative Wall Lights for Dining Rooms

Decorative wall lights for dining rooms are the perfect complement to the main lamp: they add soft side lighting that makes lingering at the table more pleasant and highlight walls, paintings or sideboards. At GreenIce you'll find energy-efficient LED wall lights and decorative models with glass globes or minimalist lines to dress your dining room in style.

Wall light styles that suit a dining room

  • Integrated LED wall lights: 5 to 15 W models such as the Ava, Isabella, Spring or Metro series, available in warm (2700 K) or neutral (4200 K) light. They need no bulb and have a very slim design.
  • Glass globe wall lights: designs such as Alba or Glow that diffuse the light and create an enveloping glow, ideal for classic or contemporary dining rooms.
  • Wall lights with adjustable tone (CCT): models such as the 12 W Martina wall light, which lets you change the color temperature to suit the moment.
  • Picture and mirror lights: designed to direct light onto artwork, a mirror or a display cabinet. You'll find them in mirror and picture lights.

How to use wall lights in the dining room

In the dining room, the main light is usually a lamp over the table, often one of our pendant lamps. Wall lights work around it: placed on either side of a sideboard or mirror, they balance the room and keep the walls from sitting in shadow. They're also a good alternative when there's no light point centered over the table or when you want soft lighting for dinners.

They are usually installed above the eye level of a seated person, so the light source doesn't dazzle diners.

How to choose decorative wall lights for the dining room

Color temperature

Warm light between 2700 and 3000 K works best in a dining room, encouraging conversation and making food more appetizing. If the dining room doubles as a workspace, a CCT model gives you flexibility.

Light direction

Indirect wall lights (up or down) create atmosphere without glare; diffused-light models, such as glass globes, light in all directions.

Output and size

A few hundred lumens is enough for a decorative wall light: its job is to set the mood, not to light the whole room. Choose a size in proportion to the wall and the furniture below it.

Consistency with other fixtures

Match finishes and color temperature with the main lamp. You can see more models in our LED wall lights collection.
